wrap & tissue repeat design
At Papyrus, repeat designs were used for tissue and wrapping paper to create a seamless and continuous visual effect. The most common types included straight or full-drop repeats, which form a simple grid, and half-drop repeats that offer an offset arrangement. Various design elements were taken and adapted into repeating patterns, enhancing visual interest and ensuring a cohesive artistic design.
The production process often required complex plate builds, especially when incorporating additional layers on top of the 4-color process printing like foil, embossing, or opaque white for metallic paper. The orientation of each design was also carefully considered to ensure that the final artwork aligned perfectly within the packaging, taking into account how it would be displayed in-store.
